Test Rides:

All demonstrations are booked subject to availability and can be cancelled without notice should we feel that conditions are unsafe or if our terms are not met. We do not offer test rides on Mondays or Bank Holidays. Demonstrations are booked subject to satisfactory license checks for the vehicle booked. We cannot offer test rides to anyone riding on a CBT for insurance purposes. For license holders with less than 1 year experience test rides will be carried out under supervision by a member of our team (on another bike). We cannot offer test rides to riders with more than 6 points on their license. Our insurance policy has an excess of £1,000 to cover any accidental damage caused on test rides, bikes are inspected in and out for damage. We do not allow pillion riders to accompany demo riders. We do not allow multi rider demonstrations.
Sales Orders:

Refunds/cancelled orders: (New bikes) New motorcycle orders placed with The Bike Sanctuary will be subject to a deposit and signed order confirmation. Prior to doing so you should ensure you have all the relevant information you need regarding the purchase. Orders cancelled beyond this point will incur a 20% admin fee on return of your deposit. Orders cannot be cancelled after the point of registration unless there is good reason for rejecting the bike (see below). Any accessories ordered as part of the sale will be fully chargeable as non-stock items. (Used bikes): We do not accept ‘holding deposits’ therefore we reserve the right to withhold part/all of a deposit on a used motorcycle to cover any reasonable costs incurred during the preparation of the bike. Any accessories ordered as part of the sale will be fully chargeable as non-stock items.

Rejections: In the unlikely event that a motorcycle is supplied in a condition that vastly differs to expectation you can contact our sales team to discuss potential options for rectification or goodwill on a case-by-case basis. The Bike Sanctuary will not accept rejection claims for damage claims post delivery where the owner has signed to say he/she was happy at the time of delivery.

Part exchanges: We accept part exchanges as part of our new/used motorcycle sales process. Bikes are valued based on the information provided by the seller on the assumption that this is accurate. We reserve the right to cancel a sale or modify the offer price on a part exchange that is not as described, which includes: Lost ownership docs, missing service history, keys, accessories, or mechanical/cosmetic damage to the bike.

Accessories: We offer a free fit service to accessories purchased from The Bike Sanctuary at the point of order. The Bike Sanctuary will endeavor to confirm the lead time on accessories but will not be held responsible for accessories that arrive late or are back ordered. In the event of an accessory delaying collection or delivery the owner will be offered the opportunity to have them fitted at a later date (free) or for us to send them on (postage charges will apply). Accessories will not be ordered until adequate payment has been made to cover our costs, this can be delayed by finance payouts or similar and will affect the overall lead time of a bikes delivery time. No refunds will be given on orders placed for non-stock accessories.

Lead times: The Bike Sanctuary’s normal lead time for new/used stock bikes is 7-10 working days. Lead times can be affected by the order of accessories, finance payouts/administration or parts required for PDI (see below). Our lead time is used for guidance only and is not legally binding, if you have specific delivery requirements this should be discussed and agreed prior to signing an order.

Finance: Finance can be provided using one of our partners; Close Brothers, MotoNovo, Santander, Jigsaw and First Response. Usually a finance deal can be finalized within a few days, however The Bike Sanctuary accepts no liability to delays on delivery due to the administration of a finance deal. No motorcycles will be released until full payment is received for a bike (new or used) nor will we progress to PDI stage. (Please see PDI’s).

Third Party Finance: The Bike Sanctuary will accept funding from third party finance companies, however we accept no responsibility for delays caused by the administration of this facility.
Preparation/PDI

PDI: (Pre-Delivery Inspections) are carried out on ALL motorcycles sold by The Bike Sanctuary, new and used. PDI’s are booked once a sale is agreed and confirmed with a deposit.

New bike PDI: New motorcycles PDI’s are carried out in accordance with the respective manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications. Each bike will come with a completed checklist of items checked for your information. New bike PDI’s carried out on learner legal machines will always come with L-Plates fitted or supplied. An 4-8 mile test ride is conducted to ensure the bike is operating correctly. Any cosmetic damage noted on a new bike PDI will usually be rectified prior to delivery, where a part is not available or back ordered we will offer the opportunity for the part to be replaced at a later date.

Used bike PDI: Used motorcycles are comprehensively checked for roadworthiness to MOT standard. Used bikes come with a min 3 months MOT. Parts that are deemed to be excessively worn or not passable will be automatically renewed. Used motorcycles will also be serviced up to date and stamped (if required). An 4-8 mile test ride is conducted to ensure the bike is operating correctly.

Not covered by PDI (Used): Cosmetic damage that is already present on the bike will usually be highlighted during the sales process and will not be rectified unless agreed prior. The installation of original parts will not be covered unless an aftermarket item affects the legality/road worthiness of the bike.
Delivery:

Free delivery is currently offered on used motorcycles only within England and Wales, delivery to Scotland is offered but chargeable. Nationwide delivery is offered on new motorcycles on a case by case basis – price on asking.

Delivery lead time: The Bike Sanctuary endeavors to deliver motorcycles within a 7-10 working day period. Deliveries are made Tuesday – Saturday from 9am – 4pm and where possible we will try to work with owners to find a time that suits. Specific delivery slots can be booked for an additional charge of 99.00 where possible giving a minimum of 2 weeks notice.

Delivery time slots will be allocated by our driver and will usually be accurate to within a 2-hour window. Contact will be made with the owner by the driver when on route to firm up a definitive time based on traffic conditions.

Who can accept the bike: Delivery can be taken by a friend or relative, who will be required to check the bike’s condition and sign for it. A video handover can be provided for the owner retrospectively if required.

Accepting delivery: On delivery you will be asked to check the bike’s condition. Our driver will answer any questions you may have regarding running in, warranty or controls. You will be asked to sign for the bike stating that you are happy with its condition. The Bike Sanctuary will not be held accountable for any retrospective damage claims once our delivery invoice has been signed.

Delivery cancelation and re-booking: Should you for any reason be unable to accept delivery of your bike for any reason we require a min 24hrs notice. If the notice is given then no charges will apply, however should no notice be given you will be charged for redelivery.

Not at home for your delivery: If for any reason you are not home to receive the delivery at the designated time our driver will endeavor to make contact with you. If contact is not made within 30 minutes of arrival our driver will not leave the bike. Delivery will need to be rebooked with additional charges applicable for re-delivery.

Delayed delivery: Should your delivery be delayed due to a technical issue with our vehicles, the bike, or a delay on parts/accessories we will contact you within 48 hours to rebook. No additional fees will apply. We will prioritize your delivery and ensure you get the bike as soon as possible.
Warranty:

Used Bikes: A 3 month ‘back to base’ warranty is provided with all our used motorcycles which covers; engine, gearbox, electronics and chassis components. Our warranty does not include wear and tear items such as brakes, tyres, chain/sprockets, clutch etc. Our warranty does NOT include recovery or breakdown, nor will it cover work carried out by another dealer. New motorcycles must be serviced by a main dealer in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions in order to maintain the warranty.

Breakdown cover is not provided as standard by all manufacturers, The Bike Sanctuary is not responsible for the recovery of a motorcycle in the event of a breakdown.

Diagnosis: No diagnosis charges will apply where the failure is linked to an item/situation covered by warranty. Should an issue arise that is related to misuse, accidental damage or modification our usual labour rates will apply. (70.00p/h as of 12/10/23)

Lead times: Are subject to the availability of; workshop time, parts availability, claim approval. Whilst we endeavor to carry out repairs as quickly as possible The Bike Sanctuary cannot be held liable for delays caused by the above.

Courtesy Bikes: Are generally not offered by manufacturers, however on a case-by-case basis this could be considered under goodwill. No 125cc bikes or below are offered.

Clothing & Accessories: Most products are covered by a one year warranty, in the first instance please contact our clothing dept to discuss.
